Access control is a means of controlling entry, or access, within a building. It will usually involve entering a code into a keypad, or presenting a proximity fob or swipe card to a reader. Systems can either be mechanical or electronically controlled.

Digital Locks
Mechanical digital locks are a stand alone system requiring the successful entry of a code to allow access through the door. They do not need an electricity supply or, in most cases, even a battery back up.

Electronic Door Entry
Access to doors can be triggered by a variety of electronic methods including proximity readers, card swipes, or biometric readers.

Hotel Control Systems
Where there are a number of doors requiring constant change in users, such as hotels, doors may need to be monitered or controlled from a central location. This allows alterations on the system to be carried out using a PC or control unit.

Audio & Video Entry Systems
Commonly found at the entrances to offices or blocks of flats, restricting access via a speech panel calling an individual handset with an integrated lock release button.
